By MONIQUE HENRY

Cleaning is not the easiest task to complete; it’s both time and energy-consuming and tends to be boring at times. It gets even worse when the products you have to use aren’t of great assistance and forces you to work twice as hard.

Using less complex products can help to get the job done much faster, and with way less energy. Here are ten simple D-I-Y products you can use to clean your home better:

1. All-purpose cleaner

Used for: Kitchen counters, appliances, and inside the refrigerator.

• 4 tablespoons baking soda

• 1-quart warm water

Directions: Mix the solution. Use a clean sponge along with the solution to wipe the items.

5. Carpet cleaner

To remove stains from your carpet, mix 1/4 cup liquid castile soap and 1/3 cup water until the mixture becomes foamy. Spread the mixture over the stain and let it sit for 15-30 minutes. Scrub the stain with a washing brush until it is no longer visible, then use a clean cloth to remove the mixture or just wash the carpet.
